Job Title: Project Management – Global Engineering
Location: Chennai
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – Global Engineering to lead new development and change management projects for wind turbine components across multiple product platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engineering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Sales, Production, Logistics, Installation, and Service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end engineering development and change management projects.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Align project schedules and objectives with other project managers across product platforms.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
- Report project status to the Program Director and escalate critical issues when required.
- Coordinate technical aspects with Chief Engineers and divisional management.
- Plan and oversee prototype testing, validation, and production ramp-up activities.
- Ensure optimal resource allocation in collaboration with line and project managers.
Eligibility:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in engineering project management, product development, or change management.
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering projects in manufacturing, renewable energy, automotive, or heavy engineering industries.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is preferred.
Preferred / Technical Skills:
- Experience in engineering product development and engineering change management.
- Knowledge of wind turbine systems, renewable energy products, or industrial equipment is preferred.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar.
- Experience with SAP, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), or Engineering Change Management (ECM) systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering design, prototype validation, testing, and product industrialization.
- Expertise in project planning, resource management, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a global engineering environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent presentation, reporting, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while ensuring delivery within scope, budget, quality, and timeline.
